Wednesday, April 17th (as of 1:40 pm)
- Frosh/Soph game at Lockport is postponed for today. There is NO PRACTICE or indoor time planned, so players are free to go home
- JV practice is cancelled for today. Players are free to go home after school and enjoy the day off.
- Varsity had already cancelled practice after their 7-6 victory over St. Charles North last night
We will be rescheduling the F/S vs Lockport game for a future date. Email message will announce the date, time, and location when it is confirmed.
Due to inclement weather forecasted for tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th, JV and Frosh/Soph players should be prepared to be in the classroom, cafeteria for walk-thrus, weight lifting, and/or running outside (if weather permits).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thursday, April 11th (as of 1:25 pm)
- Frosh/Soph game is postponed for today.
- JV game has been cancelled as well.
We will be rescheduling both games for a future date. Phone and email messages will be going out soon.

Wedneday, April 10th (posted at 3:00 pm)
- Freshman/Sophomore game TODAY has been cancelled. We will work to reschedule the game or schedule another team to play in the future.
- JV and Frosh/Soph team players are to meet in Room 101 at 3:30 until approximately 5:00 pm. Players should bring shoes and clothing to run outdoors in and should attend the classroom time even if they aren't prepared to run.
- Varsity is still practicing at Nike turf, but will most likely end earlier than usual when they are forced off the field.
- Congratuations to the Varsity Lacrosse Redhawks on their 8-5 victory last night over Naperville North. It was good to finally get a victory over the Huskies since we split games in 2007 (1 win and 1 loss).
- Hopefully, the rain stays away and we might be able to play tomorrow at Kennedy (Frosh/soph) and Benedictine (JV) grass fields. Most likely, varsity's game in our stadium tomorrow at 8:00 pm will be played unless there are storms in the area that late at night.
Monday, April 8th - 11:25 am (latest update)

March 9th - UPDATE
Here is the plan for tomorrow's discount card sales blitz:
- If players have NCHS lacrosse or other NCHS spiritwear, they should wear it
- Be prepared for rainy weather as well
- Bring all your remaining cards tomorrow to sell and along with any money not yet turned in
- Players are to meet at the Naperville Knights of Columbus Council #1369 hall at 1:30 pm
- Address is 615 E. Ogden Ave near the Columbia Street stop light
- We will rally and organize into groups and head out into neighborhoods with supervision by coaches
- Players will return to the hall around 5:00 pm
- Once a player has turned in all money and remaining cards, they are done for the day and can leave
- If they qualified for the BWW buffet by selling 20 cards or more, that will start around 5:30
- We plan to be done by 7:00-7:30 pm.
All money and/or cards must be turned in tomorrow night.
Baseline concussion testing
The first testing day is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 13th at 3:30 pm. We'll be targeting to get all varsity players that need to be tested on that day and then other players to fill th 30 slots. Parents and/or players will be notified with the specific date, time, and room for testing.
If you get scheduled for a testing date and the player has already been baseline concusion tested AT NCHS, please let the scheduler no asap so that we can get someone else to take that slot.
March 7- UPDATES
A couple of quick updates:
Tomorrow's JV and F/S practice
JV and Freshman/Sophomore players ARE AT PLAYERS INDOOR TOMORROW starting at 4:00 pm for practice. This is different than what was communicated to the players at practice tonight, but hasn’t changed from previous email communications or what’s on the calendar. We apologize for the late phone call to clarify the schedule, but felt it was important that we cleared up any confusion.
Welcome to our newest players !!
We've had at least 6 new players join the program since Saturday. A couple are already on the field and the rest will join practices today and tomorrow as they get their paperwork and equipment finalized.
BBW discount cards
A great start to the Buffalo Wild Wings discount card sales. So far, we've collected money for 423 cards. Three of the four varsity groups have each sold more than all the JV and Frosh/Soph players combined. Please bring any money you have collected to practice today (JV and F/S) or to classroom 100 (Varsity). You have to turn in your money before you get more cards to sell.
Remember that we'll be doing a selling blitz on Sunday afternoon to finish up the sales. Time is roughly 1:30 to 5:30 with the “BWW buffet” afterwards for those who have earned it. Location will be announced by the coaches on Friday at the latest.
TAMALAX discount – TONIGHT, March 7th
Don’t forget our NCHS lacrosse discount night at TAMALAX from 7-9 PM. This is just for NCHS boys and girls lacrosse players. The store is located between KMart and Ogden 6 theater on the corner of Ogden and Naperville Road.
Outdoor practices
As we try to start outdoor practices next week, please understand that we’ll need to be flexible given the weather and amount of snow on the ground. Turf fields in the area haven’t been cleared, except for Benedictine. The coaches will be having classroom time and practices in parking lots or fields where the snow has started to melt, when possible. Please dress in layers for the weather as we go outside next week.
Baseline concussion testing
Baseline concussion testing should be starting soon. If your player needs to be tested, you will be contacted by the school for the day the test will be conducted. Most likely, tests will be performed after school and take about 1 hour.
Parent game job assignments and uniforms
This year, we are going to do parent game duty assignments online using the same system that the Senior Party committee uses for their volunteers (Signup Genius). We hope you find this easier and quicker, plus the system will email you a few days before a game that you have an assignment.
We’ll be asking parents to sign up for a certain number of game and/or team dinner duties in order for your son to get their jersey. Varsity’s website should be available in a couple of days and we’ll have JV and F/S ready once those teams have been selected later this month. We are trying to get Varsity players their uniforms by March 14-15 and JV and Frosh/Soph before spring break.
A big THANK YOU to Sandy Kehl who is organizing our parent game duties again this year and who will also be contacting parents who volunteered for other areas for the team (awards, team coordinator, banquet, etc).
Board Meeting – Monday, March 11th
The board will be meeting on Monday, March 11th at 7:00 pm at NCHS in room 128. Coaches and any parent are welcomed to attend. Hopefully the front door will be unlocked (Entrance 1) since that is the easiest way to get to the room (front door, left and up the stairs, first right down hallway, room is on the left).
March 5th - NO PRACTICES
1:40 PM update
The school district has cancelled all after school activities for today, so there will be NO LACROSSE PRACTICE for any team.
Practice resumes tomorrow at Players Indoor for all teams. JV and Frosh/Soph from 8-10 pm and Varsity 9-11 pm.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is also the new check point for discount card sales. YOU MUST BRING YOUR MONEY FOR THE TICKETS SOLD TO DATE !! YOU MUST ALSO BRING MONEY IF YOU WANT ADDITIONAL CARDS TO SELL. Some players have already sold 20-40+ tickets as of last night and we ran out of additional tickets, but we should now have more for you to sell.
Keep up the great work on the fund raiser !!
Don't forget the TAMALAX discount night on Thursday, March 7th.
------------------
8:30 AM
The cancellation scenario that we thought wasn't possible (school closed with possibility for after school activities) has occurred. We will be monitoring the district's decision on after school activities (by 2:00 PM) as well as weather conditions affecting Naperville this afternoon.
We will attempt to update the calendar and this web page by 2:15 pm for JV and Frosh/Soph and by 6:00 pm for Varsity.
If you don't see an update after those times, please contact your coach or Gary Denklau at 630-267-9884.
Thank you.
==================================================
Monday, March 4th update
Tuesday, March 5th plans:
With the likely possibility of a good snow storm today, we will let you know the following plans ahead of time:
- If school and after school activities are cancelled for tomorrow, all boys lacrosse practices will be CANCELLED
- If school is in session and after school activities are cancelled for tomorrow, all boys lacrosse practices will be CANCELLED
- If school is in session and after school activities are still occurring, then the coaches and I will be assessing conditions to determine if practices will continue as scheduled.
If we are cancelled for tomorrow, the Buffalo Wild Wings sales check point will be at Wednesday's practices. In either case, players need to bring the money for the cards they have sold so far to the next practice (Tuesday or Wednesay).
ALSO - If you get any checks for the discount cards, they can be made payable to "Naperville Central Boys Lacrosse"
NCHS Team Discount Night at TAMALAX - Thursday, March 7th
This THURSDAY, MARCH 7TH, FROM 7-9 pm will officially be NCHS REDHAWKS LAX NIGHT at TAMA LACROSSE.
This is an after hours discount night for JUST our Redhawks (boys and girls). Good for 10% off EVERYTHING in the store.
Everything in TAMA’s store is priced at online competitors' pricing so this is a great way for all players and families to save some $$ and support a local business at the same time.
The store is located in northeast Naperville at the intersection of Ogden and Naperville road. It's in the same shopping center as KMart and Ogden 6 theater.
Notre Dame vs Marquette Men's Lacrosse game - April 2nd
We are also gaging interest with players and coaches for attending this game at Loyola Academy (Glenview, IL) on Tuesday, April 2nd. The game starts at 4:00 pm and is a rare opportunity to see Division I lacrosse in Illinois. This would be for Varsity and JV players since our Freshman/Sophomore team has their first game scheduled for this date.

March 2nd -
Buffalo Wild Wings discount cards
Yesterday, all boys at practice received twenty (20) Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) coupon/saving cards. Each card is sold for $15, have $150 in savings, and are good at all the locations on the card (northern suburbs) for an entire year. This is a new fundraiser for the team and we’re trying to raise $10,000. We’ll be selling the cards through March 10th.
Players have been divided into teams and assigned to a coach for some intra-team competition. Players are responsible for returning the money they’ve received for selling the cards and any remaining cards at the end of the program.
Prizes:
- If a player sells 15 cards by Tuesday night’s practice, they will receive a coupon for a free Chipotle burrito
- If a player sells 20 cards by Friday night’s practice, they will be invited to a BWW buffet on Sunday, March 10th
- For selling 30 cards by 3/10 – NCHS logo long-sleeved T-shirt
- For selling 40 cards by 3/10 – NCHS logo jacket

On March 10th, we’ll have a Blitz Day from 2:30 to 5:30 pm where we’ll be selling cards in small groups with supervision by the coaches.
As a reminder, here are the tips to selling:
- Put the card in their hand Introduce yourself
- Explain that your lacrosse team is self-funded
- Start nodding your head
- Ask if they can help you out by buying a card
If a player didn’t get a set of cards on Friday, please see your coach on Monday at practice to get your set of cards.
TAMALAX NCHS Night
We are working to have our own team night at the TAMALAX store in Naperville. This would be after hours and only for NCHS players and parents. During the event, you can purchase items at a discount for the lacrosse season. As soon as we have the date secured, we'll let you know.
March 1st
Fundraising Opportunities
Today we are kicking off two fundraising opportunities for our program:
1) Buffalo Wild Wings discount cards – Players will find out about this program today while at Players Indoor. Frosh/Soph and JV teams will meet promptly at 3:30 pm before practice starts at 4:00 pm. Varsity will have their session at 4:30 pm after their 2:00 pm practice ends. Proceeds from the sale of the cards will go directly to the team and players can earn prizes for selling certain number of cards.
2) We have chosen Liberty Mutual Insurance (see attached flyer) to participate in a fundraising program for our team this year. Liberty believes in giving back to the communities in which their team lives and works. Their local Agent, Mark Colello, has offered to help our team raise money with a Quote for Donation program.
Liberty Mutual has partnered with our NCHS Boys Lacrosse team to raise funds to benefit the Club. You can support this effort by completing a no obligation Auto or Home Insurance Quote with Mark between 3/01/13 - 4/01/13. That's all you need to do and Liberty Mutual will donate $10 for an auto insurance quote and an additional $5 for a home insurance quote. The only requirement is that you live in Illinois, so ask your friends and relatives to help support our club by quoting their insurance today. Mark promises a short 10 minute call is all it takes or email him your current insurance information and he will call you.
Through this program, you'll not only benefit NCHS Boys Lacrosse, but also discover quality insurance at the right price. Among Liberty's many advantages, you'll receive expert advice, caring service, 24 Hour Claims Assistance, and the latest information to help keep you and your family safe. Again, this is a no obligation program that raises funds for our program and potentially helps you save money on insurance as well.
Please see the attached flyer for more information or call Mark Colello @ 630-836-1025 x55093 to start your quote and earn us a donation.
NCHS Lacrosse Spiritwear
Our final spiritwear campaign is now open through Janor Sports in Naperville (see attached flyer). To order go to WWW.JANORSPORTS.NET and enter password: nclacrosse
Orders must be submitted online before Sunday, March 17th.
Other details and information can be found online. Please call Mike at Janor Sports at 630-355-8877 for assistance. When completing your order, Varsity players should select VARSITY and JV and Frosh/Soph players should select JV, if requested.
Practice Schedule change
- JV and Frosh/Soph – please make sure your player tells you the plans for JV / Frosh/Soph team practice on Monday, March 4th. With snow on the ground, we most likely will be in the classroom at NCHS again. We’ll update the teams’ calendars once we know for sure from Coach Romans.
- Varsity - To make up for Tuesday’s snow day and lost practice, Varsity will practice Wednesday, March 6th at Players Indoor from 9-11 pm.
Keep recruiting players, especially those that didn't make the baseball team or those finishing their hockey season. First week of practices are almost done, but it's not too late to join. Less then fifteen (15) days until Varsity's first game. We need some help with the weather and the snow on the ground !!
.

Still looking for lacrosse players
We’re still looking for additional players to join the team. Please keep recruiting your friends to join "the fastest game on two feet" !! Registration forms are at http://redhawkslacrosse.org/Registration.html
Calendars
Team calendars are available at http://redhawkslacrosse.org/Calendar.html Game schedules are up to date (but are still occasionally changing). Indoor practice times are also listed. Since most teams will have a set practice time and location once we get outdoors in a few weeks, those are not listed (to keep the calendar clean). Any changes to the practice schedule will be communicated by the team’s coach or through the Callingpost phone notification for weather cancellations.
Spiritwear
Yard signs can be ordered from the NCHS Booster Club and we are getting ready for another Spiritwear campaign. Our spiritwear page is http://redhawkslacrosse.org/SpiritWear.html
Varsity Spring Break Trip
We’ve had to look elsewhere for the Varsity’s spring trip as the O’Fallon/St. Louis area has fallen through in January. At this point, it is getting difficult to schedule with other teams as they already have a full schedule. We’ll have a final determination next week on whether a trip will occur or not.
NEW !! Concussion baseline testing
This is the first year that we will be participating in the school’s concussion testing program. We want all players who have not already received a concussion baseline test at Naperville Central to be tested. A player only needs to be tested once during his career at NCHS.
If a player receives a concussion during the season, the results of the baseline test will be compared with a post-concussion test and will help medical professions evaluate whether a player is fit to return to playing lacrosse and other activities. The computer-based test takes about one hour to administer and will be done after school at NCHS in the next few weeks.
To help us get the testing underway, CLICK HERE SEND AN EMAIL and let us know whether you/your son has been concussion baseline tested at NCHS or not. We’ll be verifying with the school to make sure we don’t miss anyone. Hopefully, most NCHS football players have gone through the test and won’t need to be retested.
If you have any questions prior to February 25th, please contact me:

January 29, 2013
REGISTRATION FORMS HAVE BEEN EMAILED to previous players and those registered during 2012's 8th grade orientation.
Registration forms and fees due by February 7, 2013 to ensure required paperwork is turned into the school in time for tryouts on February 25th.

January 14, 2013
We are please to announce our new JV head coach - Sandy Romans. Sandy comes to us with over 40 years of lacrosse experience and has been involved with the Neuqua Valley, Naperville North, and New Wave programs.
Welcome Sandy !!
January 4, 2013
Welcome to 2013 !! Hope everyone had a nice holiday and the students are ready to return to school. Sorry I haven't communicated about the team recently due to several issues, but we're back to get everyone ready for the season in 7 weeks.
Winter 2 New Wave sessions
STARTS TOMORROW, Saturday, January 5th. Due to the popularity of the New Wave program and because we had players signed up at all 3 facilities, they have moved our JV and Varsity teams to the FINISH STRONG facility in WEST CHICAGO ( 551 W Roosevelt Road, West Chicago, IL just west of Route 59 and Roosevelt Road on the north side of the street).
Please check the New Wave website (http://www.newwavelax.com/page/show/227779-new-wave-lacrosse ) to verify the facility and team you/your son has been assigned. Start with the Finish Strong link, then Players and Westmont if you can't find youIf you have any questions or issues, please contact Andy Thompson at Andy@newwavelax.com
There may still be time to register for the Winter if you'd like to join. Scroll farther down the page for the REGISTRATION information.
Spring Training Sessions
We currently only have 32 players signed up for the "spring training" sessions and would like to see at least 50 !! These are SKILLS and DRILLS based sessions where players can get ready quickly for the lacrosse season.
While the Winter 2 scrimmage games are good, the players will get a lot of personalized training and contact with the experienced New Wave coaches that will be running them.
Here is the registration link and these are open to any Naperville Central student. Each 90 minute session will be at Finish Strong at 551 W Roosevelt Road, West Chicago, IL (same location as last year - just west of Route 59 and Roosevelt Road).
Cost is $100.00 for the 5 weekly sessions. Carpooling is recommended.
https://tms.ezfacility.com/OnlineRegistrations/Register.aspx?CompanyID=1415&GroupID=186761
Here's the guideline that we'd ask players to follow when choosing a session - Sign up for the Varsity session if you plan to try out for varsity this spring. All other players should sign up for the "JV" session. The "JV" session will be for Junior Varsity and Freshman/Sophomore players.
After the first session, New Wave staff may need to shift players from one session to another in order to balance the number of players at each session. Players will need to bring their full gear including mouthguard, pads, helmet, and stick. A reversible pinnie and a water bottle should also be brought each week.
2013 Registration
We are running behind on getting Registration information out to everyone. I hope to get it posted and emailed to everyone by next weekend at the latest.
Coaching
We need a couple of assistant coaches for our JV and Freshman/Sophomore teams. These can be coaches from summer/fall/winter teams that you know are looking for a coaching position, former players in high school or college, or parents who are familiar with the game. Coaches will have to go through an online First Aid and "coaching fundamentals" class as well as pass the school district's background check process.
If interested and can help out, please let me know or contact Coach Tim Hurst.
Spring Break trip
We are still working on the details for the Varsity's spring break trip. We are still looking at being in the St. Louis area on Friday, March 22nd through Monday, March 25th at the latest. We know that some players may already have plans, so if they aren't able to attend other players may be asked to fill in for them. As soon as we have details, we will let you know.
Again, I apologize for being out of touch during much of December. If you have any questions, please see me at the games on Winter 2 Saturdays, the spring training sessions, or give me a call. Thank you.
Gary Denklau

If you didn't receive this in an email on January 4th or didn't receive a phone call from the team today, please let us know at nchsredhawkslax@hotmail.com.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

6/20/2012 - Ribfest & Alumni Game
We have been assigned next Sunday, July 1st 11-5 pm for Logistics (emptying garbage cans and picking up trash). We'll be meeting at the Naperville Park District's barn at 10:40 am to get instructions, gloves, and hopefully T-shirts again. Bring an initial bottle of water and in previous years, water and soda have been provided to the workers free of charge when the park opens at noon.
You also get free admission to the park after our shift ends. We will need 45 parents, players, siblings (10 years and older), and/or friends to help. Each person that works the 6 hour shift will receive a $26.00 credit towards their player's registration fees or the Varsity's spring break trip for next season.
We have also offered to help another group doing the same work on Saturday night, June 30th from 4:00 pm - midnight. This 8 hour shift will earn each person $40 towards registration fees and/or the Varsity's spring break trip.
If you are interested in working at ribfest for either date, please EMAIL Kelly Houchin at kellyroseh@yahoo.com with your name and the approximate number of people who will be helping so that Kelly Houchin can track who will be there.
We only need 45 to help on Sunday and up to 35 for Saturday, so let us know as soon as possible.
We'll also be getting signed up to work at Last Fling over Labor Day weekend and won't have those dates and times until mid to late August.
Alumni Game
Please keep Friday, July 6th and Friday, July 20th open for a possible alumni vs. NCHS lacrosse game in the NCHS Stadium. Starting time either night would probably be 7:00 pm. We are just awaiting word if the stadium is available either night.

Combined JV and Frosh/Soph team:
- Tuesday - classroom session from 3:30-5:30 pm. Players will meet in cafeteria until rooms are determined. Players will be running on the track with the varsity team from 5:30 pm until their 2 miles are completed. Running with your lacrosse stick is optional and no other equipment is needed.
- Wednesday - back at Players Indoor from 7-8:30 pm (arrive early to be ready to take the field at 7:00 pm)
- Thursday - indoor practice at Westmont Yard from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. NO SCHOOL the next day. Arrive early to be ready to take the field at 8:30 pm. Please carpool for rides (ask and offer) to reduce the number of players driving (don't forget about driving curfew after 10:00 pm).
- Friday - outdoor practice at Nike turf field from 5-7 pm in full gear. Dress for the weather and lights will automatically turn off at 7:00 pm.
Thank you for being flexible this early in the season. Our fields are not in playable condition yet. Only one of the 2 garden plot fields is available this year and we are working with the girls' team to determine who will use it. We have also secured at least one field at Madison Jr. High, but we have not yet determined who will be practicing their yet. Madison will be our home field for games not scheduled in the stadium. Our field situation is changing (and improving) each day and this is why we are on the Nike turf field at the end of this week.
Coaching update
We interviewed and extended an offer to Naperville North graduate, Michael Werschulz, to coach our Freshman/Sophomore team. He's currently shadowing Coach Nehra and will be starting the District 203 hiring/screening process today. If you see him around, please welcome him to the team. Also, Rob Hankins from the Naperville area Young Life program will be joining us as an assistant coach as well this season and we welcome him to our program.
Saturday, March 3rd - College Lacrosse
Don't forget the Aurora University vs Wooster University lacrosse game at Aurora University at 1:00 pm this Saturday, March 3rd. Come see 3 of our seniors from last year as well as other players from Chicago area high schools. This is an optional event and transportation is on your own. Wear your Redhawks spiritwear to the game. I believe admission is free as well.
Also, don't forgot you can start watching college lacrosse games on ESPNU, ESPN3 (internet), and occasionally ESPN from now through Memorial Day. The schedule is at http://www.inlaxwetrust.com/2012/1/23/2727924/ncaa-and-espn-announce-college-lacrosse-schedule
Game Schedule
At this point, the game schedule for each team is pretty much completed. A lot of changes have occurred in the past 2 weeks, but it's finally settling down now that we know where all our home games will be played. From today forward, if there are any game changes (dates, times, locations), they'll be communicated in an email to highlight the change. This means that once you know what team you or your son is on, you can update your family calendar with the game schedule. Each team has at least 17 games and is playing in at least one tournament this year.
Still room for more players
There is still plenty of room for additional players in our program. So when you hear that someone didn't make a spring sport team, please let them know that the lacrosse team wants them !! No experience necessary. Please direct them to the Registration page on our website (www.redhawkslacrosse.org) or to Carol Abrams (630-428-1638).
Referees needed
Last call if you are interested in learning to referee boys lacrosse. Our lacrosse program has two fathers who will be refereeing other school's games during the spring season. There is a 2-day training class at College of DuPage this weekend (March 3 & 4th) from 9-3 each day followed by "on the field training" on March 17th. If interested, see the Great Lakes Lacrosse Officials Association training page at http://glloa.com/Page.asp?n=36216&snid=jMI%40%5D6N3%5C&org=glloa.com and give Gary Denklau a call at 630-267-9884 if you have any questions.

Feb 9 - NCHS LAX News
Lacrosse equipment for our troops
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated equipment, money, and/or their time towards shipping 37 boxes of lacrosse equipment to our troops in Afghanistan. Over 30 of our players plus many of our coaches and parents joined New Wave players, parents, and coaches and Benedictine lacrosse head coach Jason Farrell on Saturday, February 4th at the Naperville Post Office to box, package, and ship everything overseas. See the articles below to see pictures and more details:

Registration Reminder and Thank You
THANK YOU to everyone who has turned in their registration forms and payment on time. We believe there are a few stragglers, so please get everything to Carol Abrams as quickly as possible. If you don't have everything ready yet, get as much to her as possible so she can start processing it. As of Tuesday night, we have 59 players signed up this year. We are slightly down from last year, so push your friends to come out and play lacrosse with you. No experience necessary, especially at the Freshman and Sophomore level. Just a desire to play and to be a part of something special this year !!
Last call for shooting shirts
Get your reservations in ASAP. We'll order a few extra, but if you want to guarantee that you get one, please reply to the email with Name and Size. Checks can be turned in on Feb 27 practice or mailed to Gary Denklau, 2127 Riverlea Cir, Naperville 60565.
Time to collect our lacrosse goals
If you have a COLLAPSIBLE lacrosse goal at your home from the team, please bring it to the first practice on Feb 27th and give it to Coach Hurst. We'll need those for our outdoor practices starting that week. If you have any other goals from the team, please hold onto them and we'll let you know when they can be delivered to the "garden plot" practice field in March.
Hold the Date - SATURDAY, MARCH 3rd
This will be a team outing at Aurora University to watch them play the Wooster (Ohio) Fighting Scots lacrosse team. Three of our seniors from last year will be on the field - Danny Loyall and Tony Stawiarski for Aurora and Max Rubin for Wooster. Game starts at 1:00 pm and will be a great opportunity to see Division III (D3) lacrosse in our area.

Jan 14 - LAX Equipment for U.S. Troops
Coach Hurst has been in contact with one of his previous Neuqua Valley lacrosse players, 2LT A. Carter, who is now serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. While he can’t specifically say where he is or what he is doing, he does tell us that he is standing up a base in "the middle of no where", busy working on multiple jobs at a time, and operating with Special Forces, which is exciting for him.
2LT Carter is thrilled for Coach Hurst to be coaching for us this year and wishes all our teams the best. Some of the members of 2LT Carter’s squad are also interested in lacrosse, but don’t have any equipment with them. As a way to help, we’ll be collecting old sticks, lacrosse balls, gloves, etc. the next two weeks to send to Afghanistan. Just drop off items at the Denklau's at 2127 Riverlea Circle, Naperville (in Naper Carriage Hill subdivision).
Remember that our own Jack Hennessy Award, given to a senior lacrosse player each year for outstanding leadership and sportsmanship, is named after U. S. Army Sergeant and former NCHS boys lacrosse player who was killed in Baghdad, Iraq in October, 2004.
Let’s collect some unused equipment to support our troops and expand the sport of lacrosse over seas. Thank you.
Dec 15 - Varsity Head Coach announced
We are excited to announce that Tim Hurst has accepted the Varsity Head Coach position for NCHS Boys Lacrosse. Coach Tim has previously coached at Neuqua Valley and Benet Academy (where he won a state championship in 2008) and is currently coaching the New Wave Lacrosse 15 and under travel team. Joining Tim on the coaching staff is Ned Thompson (who has coached with NCHS in the past) and Jim Coakley.
